Terms and Conditions

Last updated: September 12, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of YouTube to Transcript, including our website, dashboard, and API (collectively, the "Service"), operated by YouTube to Transcript ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

The Service fetches and returns publicly available YouTube video transcripts, search results, channel information, and playlist data, both through our website and through a metered REST API. Some features are available for free with a limited credit allowance; others require an active paid subscription and/or purchased credit top-ups.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You may sign in with Google or, where enabled, an email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at Contact if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or an API key.

3. API Keys & Programmatic Access

API keys are personal to your account and must not be shared, sold, or exposed in client-side or publicly accessible code. You are responsible for all requests made with your API keys, whether authorized by you or not. We may rate-limit, suspend, or revoke an API key at our discretion if we reasonably believe it is being used in violation of these Terms or in a way that threatens the stability of the Service.

4. Subscription Plans, Credits & Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring (monthly or annual) basis through our payment processor and renew automatically until cancelled. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance; unused plan credits do not roll over to the next billing period. Purchased credit top-ups have their own expiry (stated at time of purchase) and require an active subscription to be spent. Prices and included credits are shown on your dashboard and are subject to change with reasonable notice for future billing periods; changes do not affect a period you have already been billed for.

You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access to paid features until then.

5. Refund Policy

All purchases - including subscription payments and credit top-ups - are final and non-refundable, except where we fail to deliver the service you paid for (for example, a paid plan or top-up that is never activated on your account due to an error on our end). We do not offer refunds for change of mind, unused credits, partial billing periods, or dissatisfaction with transcript accuracy, which is addressed in the Disclaimer of Warranties below.

If you believe we failed to deliver a service you paid for, contact us via the Contact page with your account email and order details, and we will investigate and make it right.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to, and not to permit others to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice, and without a refund of any unused credits or subscription fees.

7. Third-Party Content & YouTube Disclaimer

Transcripts, titles, thumbnails, and other metadata returned by the Service originate from YouTube and belong to their respective creators and rightsholders. We do not claim ownership of this content and merely provide a tool to retrieve and format it. YouTubeToTranscript.com is an independent service and is not associated, affiliated, or endorsed by YouTube, Google LLC, or any of their affiliates. Any brand names or logos displayed on this site are used for illustrative purposes only.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service's software, design, branding, and documentation (excluding third-party YouTube content described above) are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service as permitted by these Terms, no other rights are granted to you.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We strive to provide accurate transcripts and reliable uptime, but we do not guarantee that transcripts will be 100% accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that YouTube's own data will always be available to us to retrieve.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Refund Policy, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will survive.

13. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions, unless a different governing law is required by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent via our Contact page. By using YouTube to Transcript, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
